Experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic - All Branches
AGrowQuip NZ Ltd is the exclusive franchise dealer for John Deere in our area of responsibility with five branches and over 140 staff within the Auckland and Waikato regions. The company has franchises for tractor, agricultural machinery, commercial, turf, golf and fine turf, SPFH, combines and a tractor rental fleet, and has recently become the exclusive dealer John Deere construction and forestry.
We have positions available for experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics at our busy Cambridge, Hamilton, Pukekohe and Silverdale branches.
This is an exciting opportunity where you will be able to work on a wide variety of equipment from mowers and tractors to large earth moving and forestry equipment. Experience with John Deere equipment is preferable, but not essential.
Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products
Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties
Skills & Attributes
The successful applicant would ideally have the following experience, education, skills and knowledge:
2+ years of experience performing service repairs
Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
Ability to use In-house computer programs and basic computer functions
Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Reasonable level of health and fitness
Qualified Technician and advantage
Valid drivers licence is required
Fork lift license preferred
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
